It is Prague, 1584. In the dark attic of the Synagogue, Rabbi Loew walks nervously. Piles of books on a desk, gold melting in the cauldron, and a mass of clay shaped into human form. ‘Now the last step,’ exclaims the Rabbi, “because only with a true word will you come to life!’ As the word ‘Truth’ is engraved on the clay giant’s forehead and the word ‘God’ is put into its mouth, a great silence descends upon the room. The eyes open, illuminated by a sinister light, and stare at the Rabbi’s gaze, waiting for its first order. The legend of the Golem is one of the most fascinating stories in the world and has its roots in the Jewish tradition.
In the Golem Board Game, this story inspires a strategic and complex game in which players take on the role of scholars focused on recreating the famous clay automas. Use your knowledge (represented by the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet ‘Aleph’) to study traditional books, collect gold and melt it down to create powerful artifacts, bring tireless Golems to life and send them to the city to do important jobs. You will need to maintain control of your Golems by using your students and spending the knowledge you have gained. You can also choose to kill your Golems to avoid paying for their maintenance.

I'm kicking myself for ever buying any games from Amazon. MUCH happier to buy from this newly discovered local shop, run by friendly employees. (As well as friendly fellow customers with great advice!) Some of their prices were cheaper than I've seen on Amazon!I could spend ages in this shop. Does the same thing to me that a bookstore does.Would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially those trying to have less screen time and more connecting time. I had an excellent experience ordering from More Than Meeples online.Being a physical store, rather than a service that replies on multiple suppliers of varying reliability, their ability to accurately report on stock is an increasingly rare delight. It might sound like a strange thing to praise, but having had a few recent experiences ordering online from other stores, and then being told weeks later that the stock had never been there and being issues a refund, this was a very nice change.The staff were also wonderful to deal with. A fantastic board game store in Brisbane. If you are looking for a massive range of board games, or trying to pick up that board game set that you missed out on supporting on Kickstarter, then this is the place for you. They have a really wide variety of great quality board games, card games and party games, plus the ability to purchase Kickstarter additions with different supporter options. The actual store is a little difficult to find, but once you do, you won't be disappointed by what is on offer. The staff were super friendly and helpful. When looking for a gift, for my board game aficionado friends, I always come looking at More Than Meeples.
Great store with great range and really awesome customer service. I always click and collect and the order is always ready sooner than I think is even possible. It’s great to come into the store and I often end up picking up something extra as they have so many cool things in store including exclusive Kickstarter items. There looks like there are a lot of games for the small amount of space there is. I did not get to check out the store at all since I had to dash to get home. Did not have a bad experience but if you are not used to city driving, I would recommend looking at where you are going as I ended up parking in the wrong carpark.
