Hive is a boardless game that builds strategy skills. Hive is a fun game to play, because of its simple rules, yet challenging for its depth.
Each of the tactile resin (Bakelite) tiles has a unique way of moving, similar to chess, and resembles the movement of the insect depicted on the tile. Choose the best tactics to place the right piece wisely and be the first to block the Queen Bee in the Hive.
Hive enhances each player’s skills of strategic planning, tactical thinking, and spatial vision. To win, you must play both the offense (surround your opponent’s bee) and the defense (to protect your queen bee).
The Hive Pocket Board Game is the travel version of the award-winning game, Hive! This version includes 26 beautifully crafted Hive pieces, a drawstring storage bag, and two expansions to the game: ‘The Mosquito’ and ‘The Ladybug’.
This version is great for taking on trips where space is an issue or for backpacking where weight could be a problem. The pieces measure 25 mm across and 10 mm in depth and the whole game weighs only 200g including the bag, as compared to the full-size game which weighs 600g.

Preordered a large kickstarter that ran into recurring delays. Aside that aspect (waited almost a year extra) which is out of their control, I’m very satisfied with my order, now that it’s received. Delivery was swift and painless once it got dispatched. Maybe I’ll steer away from preorders for a while, and order only what’s available upfront.

I'm kicking myself for ever buying any games from Amazon. MUCH happier to buy from this newly discovered local shop, run by friendly employees. (As well as friendly fellow customers with great advice!) Some of their prices were cheaper than I've seen on Amazon!I could spend ages in this shop. Does the same thing to me that a bookstore does.Would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially those trying to have less screen time and more connecting time. I had an excellent experience ordering from More Than Meeples online.Being a physical store, rather than a service that replies on multiple suppliers of varying reliability, their ability to accurately report on stock is an increasingly rare delight. It might sound like a strange thing to praise, but having had a few recent experiences ordering online from other stores, and then being told weeks later that the stock had never been there and being issues a refund, this was a very nice change.The staff were also wonderful to deal with. They were helpful, and very fast with getting back to me to resolve any queries I had.I had a very positive experience with this store. They were transparent, and reliable. Great range for all kinds of gamers at good prices.
